CF teachers get layoff notices

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) – Eyewitness News has confirmed that the Central Falls School District has passed out 71 layoff notices to teachers in the city.

The layoff notices were based on uncertain finances, declining enrollment, and teacher certifications.

The layoff notices were sent out in accordance with state law, which requires any teacher at risk of being laid off, be notified by March 1.
